The key often leans toward minor scales that add an emotional depth, such as C# minor found in the "Heights" beat. Selecting the right BPM and key ensures your beat captures the authentic Lil Yachty vibe.

Focus on Melodic Elements and Sound Selection

Build Trap-Inspired Drum Patterns

Drums in Lil Yachty type beats combine classic trap hi-hats, snappy snares, and deep 808 bass kicks. The hi-hat rolls and trap-style snare placement create a bounce that supports a rap flow typical to Lil Yachty's delivery. Use drum patterns that emphasize groove and swing at the selected BPM.
